Snowboarding is more fun when you do it with your friends, which is why Beyond the Boundaries is as much about creating community as progressing your snowboarding. Whether you’re dialing in tricks in the park, learning about the backcountry, focusing on your all-mountain riding, or exploring a new place on a week-long snowboarding trip, confidence, camaraderie, and inspiration are key to the experience.
Established in 2017 and built on a decade of previous experience, Beyond the Boundaries began as a way to help more women feel comfortable in the terrain park and has since evolved into a something much larger: a place where women and non-binary folks can learn new things, meet new friends, and feel confident when stepping out of their comfort zone in pursuit of new tricks, experiences, and aspirations. Snowboarding is the foundation of our events, trips, and programs, but out of that something much larger is ignited: community, confidence-building, and a sense of belonging.
It’s pretty awesome where signing up to learn a few things on your snowboard will take you. New tricks and skills are only the beginning of what this community is all about.
Beyond the Boundaries offers snowboarding events, camps, and experiences. From weekend park camps to international all-mountain trips, casual ride days to backcountry education courses—we strive to offer a variety of programs that touch on the many ways to enjoy snowboarding (and we’re always evolving our offerings to include more opportunities).
Here is a breakdown of the different events and programs we currently offer. Check out our 2024-25 schedule.
COMMUNITY RIDE DAYS
Ride days offer an opportunity to meet up with other women and non-binary riders for a casual and community-driven day of making turns. The focus of ride days is making friends, creating and solidifying connections and having fun snowboarding (and skiing, too, at Loon Mountain, NH!). Ride days feature the same Beyond the Boundaries professional rider and coach staff, but are much less structured than weekend camps. There is no formal coaching—just riding and having a good time together! Park sessions will often break out, but the focus is on support rather than instruction. There is also no requirement to ride park at all—during ride days, everyone rides whatever they would like.
After riding, a celebratory après and raffle are held to connect off our boards. We keep all ride days low cost events with focus on contributing to meaningful causes, both local and larger. Proceeds from a small registration fee go toward various partner non-profit organizations. In the past, we have worked with Boarding for Breast Cancer, Save a Brain, STAY, The Loon Mountain Area Community Fund, and more.
WEEKEND PARK CAMPS
Weekend camps are freestyle-focused experiences perfect for all abilities of park snowboarders. If you have never been in the park before, our staff of seasoned coaches will be there every step of the way as you hit your first box. Familiar to the park and looking to add to your bag of tricks? We got you! We will help you step to street-style rails, perfect your front three, or master switch Euro-carving and on-trail tripods. At each resort, we have our own private park with beginner-to-intermediate sized jumps, box, rails, and more that are perfect for all learning levels to learn new tricks.
Professional snowboarders and coaching staff are there at every turn to provide guidance and advice. Learn from Olympians, video part veterans, and other accomplished women who bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to every weekend camp.
During each camp, building confidence is emphasized as we're all learning together. Broken into half-day sessions, BTBounds instills skills from each basic area of snowboarding during the first three sessions--jumping, jibbing, transition, and all mountain--specific to your level of riding in order to provide a well-rounded base on which to build. During the final session, participants can continue to work on personal goals through their choice of a variety of coached stations on all different park features.
